The Gulf is showing an increasing inclination towards sustainability. This is growing due to governments and companies investing in numerous renewables and sustainability programs.
The 2040 Vision for Renewable Energy in Oman aims to increase consumption to 20 percent by 2030 and 35 percent – 39 percent by 2040; the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) is funding renewable energy projects in the kingdom; and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative is a national drive to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
